The title ‘Simplicity’ was somewhat spontaneously chosen when talking with my web designer. I told Paolo that the project had a simplistic feel to it, based on the clarity of piano and vocals, and that was what made it so beautiful to me. I laughed and said, ‘I think that should be the title!’ All the songs I chose have touched me on a personal level. While many of them have a deeply rooted message, a common undertone is love, kindness, and appreciation. In a perfect world, these concepts too would be so simple.
Simplicity is dedicated to Valerie Payton. She was known to many as a great talent and to many more, as a great friend. Till we meet again, keep singing in Heaven.
“From the time I met Tedd Firth and started working with him, I wanted to record a project that was just the two of us. I’m glad I waited because it gave me a chance to work with Tedd for many years and get to know him as a person and an artist. I count my blessings every day that God put him on my path, and I feel fortunate that he continued to work with me to finally see this project to fruition. For every album I have recorded, Tedd was right there arranging all the music. It was quite a journey. Most importantly, he is cherished friend. Thank you, Tedd, for being a great role model, a kind man, and an inspiring artist.
